We are delighted to announce that our next expert speaker will be Laurent Bannock, exercise physiologist and sports nutritionist, founder of the Guru Performance Institute, and ISSN advisory board member.
Laurent has been involved in the fitness and nutrition industry for over 25 years; and started out as a PT & S&C coach before re-training as an exercise physiologist and performance nutritionist just over 10 years ago.
He recently completed his professional doctorate, with a focus on ‘Evidence-Based Practice in Sport and Exercise Nutrition’, at Middlesex University which he expects to graduate from this later this year; and, where he also previously completed a post graduate certificate in Strength and Conditioning.
Additional academic qualifications include an MSc in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from California University, Pennsylvania (USA).
Laurent’s professional credentials include being a Registered Sport and Exercise Nutrition Practitioner (SENr), a Certified Sports Nutritionist (ISSN), and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA).
In addition to his current role as program director of the ISSN Graduate Diploma, he operates a highly successful private practice specializing in exercise physiology and performance nutrition consulting to a wide variety of primarily elite level athletes such as football players, race car drivers, and triathletes.
Recent contractual roles have included consultancy to the Special Forces, and being team performance nutritionist to numerous professional rugby teams, the Team GB Fencing world class program toward the Rio Olympics, and a top 3 ranked WTA tennis player.
Current roles beyond private practice, include performance nutrition lead for a national football team at the upcoming FIFA 2018 World Cup.
